Etafeni Day Care Centre Trust is a multi-purpose centre in Nyanga, Cape Town, supporting children affected by AIDS and their caregivers. Established in 2001 by the Etafeni Trust, it responds to the high prevalence of HIV in the community by building local capacity and providing holistic day care.
The Flanagan and Gerard Foundation is assisting with urgent maintenance and upgrades, slowly bringing the wonderful facility back to its original beauty. In addition, the Foundation is focusing on the restoration of the centre’s gardens and greenery through new wonderlawn planting and compost enrichment. These improvements will strengthen the external spaces that support the mental health, dignity and wellbeing of those who rely on Etafeni.
With more than 1,200 children reached each year and over 200 meals served daily, Etafeni stands as a truly inspirational cause – one that aligns closely with the values of the Flanagan and Gerard Foundation.
